Personalization

At the Wilson Funeral Home, we appreciate the importance of a funeral or memorial service that reflects the life of the loved one you wish to honor.  We offer the families we serve many options that help to personalize a service.  While some of these options come at a reasonable cost, most are complementary as a token of our appreciation for entrusting us with the care of your loved one.  Please ask one of our funeral directors about these and any other services that may help to most appropriately memorialize your loved one.

Question #1Is Stationery Personalized?
Answer:Yes.  Regardless of your choice of stationery, the Wilson Funeral Home personalizes your selections to reflect the life of your loved one and the services you choose.  Register books, prayer cards and acknowledgement cards can be customized with your loved one's background, service information and an image of your choice.  We can even design a prayer card background with your own image if you prefer to do so.

Question #2Can We Bring Treasured Possessions to Display?
Answer:Absolutely.  We understand the importance and relevance of displaying your loved one's treasured possessions.  Whether you display such items in the casket, near the urn or all around the funeral home, we will accommodate your wishes.  Don't hesitate to ask your funeral director about how best to display your loved one's treasured possessions.

Question #3How Can We Display Favorite Photos?
Answer:Whether you wish to display photo images on poster boards placed on easels throughout the funeral home or prefer to have a video tribute broadcast throughout our funeral home, we can accommodate you.  In 2011, we invested in state-of-the-art audio/visual technology to enable you to better personalize your funeral or memorial service.

Video Tributes:  Using images provided by the family, our capable staff can create a customized video tribute that incorporates your loved one's favorite images.  We can also add preferred musical selections as well as captions, backgrounds and themes that further personalize the video.

Easel Displays:  If you prefer to place images on poster boards for display, we can help.  We provide families with poster board-sized, peel-back transparencies on which you can place and secure your favorite images.  These poster boards are then inserted into in our large wooden frames, which are placed on our easels.

Large Custom Image:  For a closed casket funeral service, or a memorial service, you may choose to have one of our preferred local photographers enlarge and customize an image provided by you for display at a focal point in the funeral home.

Or, choose all of these options if you so choose.

Question #4How Can Favorite Music of the Deceased Be Used?
Answer:We encourage you to select music that your loved one enjoyed and have it played during visitation hours at the funeral home.  We can also incorporate such music into a video tribute.  You can bring in your own CD or have us make one for you.  If you can only access such music by your iPod, we can connect your iPod into our audio system iPod dock as well.  Just let us know your musical preferences during the arrangements conference, and we'll work to accommodate you.

Question #5Are Military Honors Available?
Answer:Without question.  To offer thanks to the members of our nation's military for defending each of us and our democratic values, the Wilson Funeral Home can facilitate military honors to be conducted for deceased veterans of our nation's military services.  Documentation of honorable discharge is all that's needed.  Also, you can be comforted in knowing that the service provided by professional members of the Armed Forces are at no additional charge to the family.

Question #6What Other Options Are Available?
Answer:If you wish to have a symbolic event complement the committal service at the cemetery, you might wish to consider having a dove release, butterfly release or bag piper.  The Wilson Funeral Home has provided such services in the past, and can help accommodate your wishes.  Just ask your funeral director.

Question #7Do You Offer Cremation Keepsakes & Jewelry?
Answer:Please don't think you're limited to an urn for your loved one's cremation remains.  You can also place a small portion of the remains in keepsake urns.  Or, if you wish to have your loved one with you at all times, you might choose to purchase a pendant with a necklace that you can wear containing a minute portion of your loved one's remains.

For the memorial service, you can also request to use our urn arch -- a handcrafted wooden carrier that can house the urn of your loved one during the memorial service.

Obituaries & Tributes

It is not always possible to pay respects in person, so we hope that this small token will help.

Pre-Arrangement

Dying is one of the few events in life that's certain to occur, yet one we rarely plan for. Should we spend more time preparing for a two week vacation than we do our last days on Earth?
